Showcasing a variety of works from senior students across the North Coast Education District, including the presentation of awards.

The Creative Generation Excellence Awards in Visual Art recognise and promote excellence in senior visual art education throughout Queensland state and non-state schools.

Since 1990, the program has helped raise community awareness of the degree of sophistication in concepts, diversity of technical competence, and the high standard of visual art education in Queensland secondary schools.

Each education region hosts a Creative Generation Excellence Awards in Visual Art regional exhibition to showcase submitted artworks within that region.

The exhibition includes photography, painting, mixed media, sculpture, video and installation works by young Queensland artists from the region.

Award presentations form part of the regional exhibitions, where certificates of excellence, commendation, regional encouragement and participation are presented to students.

Two Fraser Coast Students, Halle Bryant from Aldridge State High and Jasmine Dowling from Hervey Bay High were succesfful in receving the 2023 excellence award and their works were recently on display at the Gallery of Modern Art up until Sunday 25 August 2024.  View the digital exhibition featuring all of Queensland's 2023 excellence award winners.
