This series of works showcase different mediums used to revisit the memories of travelling overseas.

Let's face it, we aren't going back overseas anytime soon.  Local artist Jo Dansie was touring Vietnam and Cambodia as the dreaded 'COVID' was making its way out of China.   She never imagined her overseas travel would be grounded for such a lengthy period of time.  Jo's photographs were the starting point for this exhibition.

This current series of work is her way of revisiting memories.  Portraits seemed an obvious choice because the people to Jo are the heart of the culture of the country, not just landscape or architecture.

Jo loves the challenge of achieving a reasonable likeness. Her mediums and techniques vary from charcoal, oils and acrylic according to face, place or time simply because everyone is an individual and she is influenced by the details in her memory of that person and their personal traits.
