Fraser Coast CommuniTea Set @ Gatakers Artspace
Whether you’re an artist, storyteller, or tea lover, the Fraser Coast CommuniTea Project welcomes you. Join us, share a cup of tea, and be part of creating something meaningful for our community.
The Fraser Coast CommuniTea Project is a community-driven initiative coordinated by Council to help local communities reconnect and recover after the natural disasters of 2022. It is funded by the Australian and Queensland Governments under the Disaster Recovery Funding Arrangements.
Gatakers Artspace will be hosting the first of a series of workshops that will be held throughout the Fraser Coast. Workshops are free and will run from 9am to noon. Registration is essential for catering. All art supplies, including paint and brushes, will be provided.
About the Project
With the theme, “A cup of tea can solve anything”, the CommuniTea Project combines art, storytelling, and community bonding to support community recovery and reduce social isolation. This initiative celebrates resilience through shared moments and connection.
CommuniTea Art Workshops
From November to February, local art workshops will invite participants to come together, create, and share stories that reflect the unique spirit of the Fraser Coast. These workshops are open to everyone, offering a supportive space for creative self-expression.
Creating the Fraser Coast CommuniTea Set
Art from these workshops will be crafted into the Fraser Coast CommuniTea Set, symbolising the region’s diversity and strength. This collection will visually narrate the community's journey and connection to the land, capturing the spirit of resilience and unity.
Artworks created in these workshops are intended for reproduction on Fraser Coast Regional Council’s CommuniTea Set, and marketing and reporting material related to Council’s community development and engagement. By participating in these workshops, you agree that your artwork may be edited, modified and reproduced for these purposes.
For more information on workshop locations, dates, or how to get involved, please visit Council's Fraser Coast CommuniTea Set webpage or reach out to community@frasercoast.qld.gov.au.
