Artist in Residence: 'Dear Diary' - Shanay Manitzky
Gatakers Creative Space is poised to host the immersive Dear Diary residency featuring local artist, Shanay Manitzky.
Throughout the week, Shanay will take over the Creative Space with her studio practice, turning every corner of the gallery into an interactive experience. From a 'Photo booth' to a 'Wall of secrets', the residency is an evolving journey into the artistic processes that define Manitzky’s captivating visual tales.
Through a series of interactive installations, The Dear diary residency is a living canvas, not only showcasing Manitzky’s work, but also providing a dynamic platform for the creation and development for her next big body of work. Shanay Manitzky warmly invites the community to be integral contributors during the residency, blurring the lines between artist and audience, and actively shaping the narrative of her artistic exploration.
Body of works developed as part of this residency will be on show in the ‘Dear Diary’ Exhibition to be held at Gatakers Artspace in January 2026.
Our Artist in Residence program provides time and space for artists to explore new ideas and create new works, as well as experimenting with their art forms whilst interacting with the local community.

Onsite each day from Tuesday 16 July to Wednesday 24 July, 2024 - 9.30am - 2pm
Please note the residency will be closed to the public on Sunday 21 July, 2024.

Workshops
As part of the residency join Shanay for 'Dear Diary' workshops to be held on Saturday 20 July, 2024.
