As part of Mary Poppins Festival, join Monte Lupo Gallery for a facilitated workshop to create and design your own head planter sculpture.

In this workshop you will be guided through the process of joining the already prepared neck and head together.  The neck is thrown in their studio in Brisbane and the head is press out of a mould by their employees. You will then be able to give your head planter some personality by adding hair and any other sculptural embellishments!

The head planter is approximately 30cm high.

In the afternoon you will be decorating the head planter with underglaze colours.  You will be shown several decorating techniques that Monte Lupo uses to decorate the sculptures.

After you have decorated your head planter, your piece will be fired by our talented team at Monte Lupo Studio in Brisbane. Sculptures will then we returned to Gatakers Art space  for collection (approximately two weeks later).

Your piece will be handled and fired by the Monte Lupo staff with the utmost care. However, if breakages or kiln related mishaps occur, they will be repaired by our skilled staff. If it cannot be repaired, you will be offered an opportunity to make a new piece during studio time at no additional cost.
