This collection of works showcases watercolours and gouache portrays, places fond and familiar, as well as others far from home.

Two decades ago Zela was introduced to the wet-on-wet watercolour technique, a technique she has used to render her profound responses to the beauty of the natural world and the sense of wonder at the formative forces underlying it.

The works reflect her emotive connection with her homelands of Mary River Valley and the wallum heathlands of coastal Queensland, as well as diverse places from her travels including Tasmania and European locations including the Douro River valley in Portugal, the charming villages of Cinque Terre in Italy and the Isle of Iona.
