Works on display by clients from Maryborough Richmond Fellowship Queensland [RFQ] and Wide Bay Mental Health & Specialised Services to celebrate Mental Health Week 2024.

QMHW is an annual awareness initiative that aims to promote individual and community mental health and wellbeing, boost awareness of mental illness, reduce stigma and discrimination, and celebrate the contribution of the mental health and community sectors.

QMHW always takes place in the week of World Mental Health Day on 10 October. In 2024, the week will be celebrated from Saturday 5 October to Sunday 13 October.

The theme “Connect for mental health”, emphasises the proactive measures we can adopt to nurture and support positive mental health and wellbeing for ourselves and our communities.

Richmond Fellowship Queensland [RFQ] and Wide Bay Mental Health & Specialised Services have embarked on a collaborative endeavour aimed at providing a unique opportunity through The Inaugural Maryborough Mental Health Week Exhibition.

Through our joint efforts, we have successfully launched a program offering art classes, complete with a local artist and the necessary materials.

This initiative has been instrumental in reaching out to people who may often find themselves isolated at home, doubting their artistic abilities and lacking access to traditional art classes.
